Nonprofit Mead Housing to Increase Output in 1985

January 06, 1985

Mead Housing is planning to build 240 houses in 1985, according to Donald B. Nicolson, president of the nonprofit Los Angeles organization that builds free-standing homes.

During 1984, Mead built and closed escrow on 195 homes. In 1983, Mead moved 147 families into houses.

Mead is building homes in Pomona, South-Central Los Angeles, Watts, Pacoima and San Fernando. Prices range from less than $50,000 for a 912-square-foot home to about $80,000 for a 1,588-square-foot, two-story plan. Prices are determined by cost of lots.

Houses are available on a low-interest basis to qualified moderate-income families. More details are available from Mead at 1644 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 202, Los Angeles 90017.
