Taiwan Says Inflation Fell During 1984

January 11, 1985|Associated Press

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Consumer prices in Taiwan fell 0.03% in 1984 from the previous year, the nation's first decline since 1965, the government reported.

The Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics attributed the decline to bumper harvests of vegetables and lowered import prices for agricultural and energy commodities.
