Abused Children Helped, Cheered by Realty Firm

January 13, 1985

A San Diego real estate agency, Ohman Rattan Century 21 Realtors, working with the city's Child Abuse Prevention Foundation, presented Christmas baskets to 40 host families caring for abused children who would otherwise have had no Christmas.

Two of the firm's 80 agents were assigned to each family, to purchase and package the baskets at their own expense and then to deliver the food and toys, according to the firm's principals, Elaine Rattan and Craig Ohman.

"This bit of giving helped some people to lift their spirits during a very emotional part of the year and at the same time focus on the true meaning of the season," Rattan said. The firm and the foundation plan to make it an annual event.
