January 26, 1985

Two men handcuffed and robbed a Bank of San Diego courier of about $1,800 in the parking lot of the Neighborhood House Assn., police spokesman Bill Robinson said. The 23-year-old courier had picked up several money bags and was leaving Neighborhood House, a nonprofit social service agency at 841 S. 41st St., when he was confronted by two men, one carrying a silver revolver. The men handcuffed the courier and put him on the ground, then removed the money bags from the trunk of his car, Robinson said. One bandit drove away in a brown 1972 or 1973 Pontiac and the other escaped on foot. No one has been arrested, Robinson said. A Neighborhood House employee said the courier had picked up money from several bank customers in addition to the Neighborhood House.
