Students, your reading assignment is How to Grade Your Professors by Jacob Neusner (Beacon: $18.95, hardcover; $8.95, paperback). Skip Part I, in which the author hums "If I Ruled the World" while delivering pompous platitudes about what colleges and professors should be. Study Parts II and III closely, though. You'll find uncommon sense about how to choose the school and major that are right for you and insightful advice on some of the crisis points of college life. How to grade Prof. Neusner? Give him a D as a lecturer, an A as a teacher.
