The Glendale Community College Board of Trustees has accepted a bid from a Pasadena architectural firm to design a $4.4-million office and classroom building in the center of campus.
The entire project, however, still faces some uncertainty over how it will be funded because the district has not received word from Sacramento about how much money the state will contribute, said Bill Taylor, college purchasing agent.
"We could get as much as 90% from Sacramento or as little as 50%," Taylor said. "We should know by July, and at any rate, the amount we get from the state will probably not affect the date when construction is scheduled to start."
Taylor said some college programs may suffer minor financial cutbacks if the school does not receive 90% of funding from the state for the new building. Ground breaking is scheduled for spring, 1987, Taylor said.
