Milwaukee Bucks owner Jim Fitzgerald announced today that he is putting the National Basketball Assn. team up for sale.
"We want very much for someone in Milwaukee . . . to buy the Bucks," he said in disclosing the move. Fitzgerald said he thinks that the demise last week of the SportsVue cable television network, which the Bucks operated in Wisconsin along with the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, hastened the decision. He also said he believes that a larger arena than the current 11,052-seat facility is a must if the team is going to be viable in Milwaukee.
