La Reina Girls' School in Thousand Oaks Getting New Building

Construction has started on a $2.5-million, two-story, 43,100-square-foot multipurpose building at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, with completion scheduled for early 1986.

La Reina, one of the few remaining all-girl schools in Southern California, is operated by the Sisters of Notre Dame at 106 W. Janss Road at Hendrix Avenue. It was opened 21 years ago with 18 students and now has more than 400.

The new building will contain an auditorium/gymnasium with ancillary facilities, kitchen and cafeteria, classrooms, offices, faculty accommodations and storage. Its architect is J. D. O. Associates Inc., Woodland Hills, and the builder is Told Construction Co., Camarillo.
