Plans to create downtown San Diego's first vertical art gallery have been announced by the owners of the 20-story Wells Fargo Building.
Each floor will have its own art theme, chosen by the tenants, according to DeAnn Reynolds, marketing representative for the Koll Co., owner of the building in partnership with La Salle Street Fund. The program is a joint effort between the building's owners and tenants, she added.
"Koll and La Salle are purchasing the first major art piece for each floor, after the tenants choose the theme," she said. "The tenants will then add pieces to follow the theme. The art works will be placed in corridors, elevator lobbies and other public areas."
Selection of all the artwork for three floors has been completed, according to Janet Disraeli of the Art Collector Gallery, who is assisting in the effort.
