Rancho P.V.

February 28, 1985

The City Council has taken formal steps to join Palos Verdes Transit, a dial-a-van system that now serves the adjoining cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills Estates. The council authorized participation in the system for one year and appropriated $149,975 for the system--$55,000 of which will be used to pay most of the costs for two new vans. The remainder of the costs will be covered by Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Angeles County.

Van service is expected to start in the city in April, according to Gordon Siebert, Rancho Palos Verdes public works director who supervises the van system. A formal agreement bringing Palos Verdes Estates into the system is now being negotiated.
