The Los Angeles County Grand Jury was asked by the district attorney's office to help investigate rape allegations against actor and former football star Jim Brown. Schuyler Sprowles, spokesman for the district attorney's office, said the jury has not been asked to return a criminal indictment against Brown but has instead been asked to subpoena witnesses in the case. Brown was arrested last month, along with a female companion, after a woman told police that the actor and the woman raped her at Brown's Hollywood Hills home. No formal charges have been filed in the case and Brown has denied the allegations.
