BANGKOK, Thailand — Bill Israelson held off the challenge of fellow American John Jacobs, who fired a course-record eight-under-par 64 Sunday, and won the $100,000 Thai Open golf tournament by one stroke.

Israelson shot a final-round 71 and finished at 15-under-par 273 on the 6,844-yard Navatanee course.

Jacobs, who finished at 274, broke the old course record of 65 set in 1975 by Ben Arda of the Philippines.
