Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Jerry Pacht has postponed hearings on whether to revoke or suspend the 321 Club's liquor license until after April 5, when another Superior Court judge will decide whether to allow the hearings to go forward. Pacht is retiring.
The club, at 321 Santa Monica Blvd., is a popular night spot for teen-agers and young adults.
The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control scheduled hearings for Tuesday, but Pacht ruled that the club's owners needed more time to collect information.
In a formal accusation filed with the department, the City of Santa Monica contends that the club has repeatedly violated its liquor license.
Club owner Lloyd Moody called the claims unfounded. "This whole case is a farce," Moody said in a telephone interview.
