Times' Prep Basketball Awards : 2 Schools Dominate All-South Coast Team

Dominguez and Lynwood, which had great seasons, each placed three players on The Times' All-South Coast high school basketball team.

The All-South Coast team is one of 10 from circulation areas that will be honored at The Times' annual prep basketball awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Times Mirror Building in downtown Los Angeles. USC Coach Stan Morrison is scheduled to be the guest speaker.

A player of the year and coach of the year will be announced at the ceremony.

Coaches and sportswriters selected forwards Curtis Williams and Michael Moore and guard Rod Palmer from a 23-5 Dominguez team that reached the Southern Section 4-A finals before losing to Glendale.

Forwards Willie Joseph and Andre Edwards and guard Erik Peace were selected from Lynwood, which finished 27-2 and reached the semifinals.

Also on the team are guards Van Anderson of St. Anthony and Barry Heads of Compton, forward Kenny Rogers of Paramount and center Vincent Camper of Poly.
