March 28, 1985|From Reuters

LONDON — Buckingham Palace said today that Queen Elizabeth will visit Grenada in October, two years after U.S. Marines invaded the Caribbean island that is part of the Commonwealth to stop what U.S. officials called a Marxist takeover.

After visiting Belize, the newly independent Central American state, from Oct. 9 to 11, the queen will visit seven other nations aboard the royal yacht Britannia, stopping in Grenada for one day, Oct. 31, the palace said.
