The City Council has approved a $7,500 study of methods to improve traffic on McDonald Street and neighboring streets.

The council acted after about 100 residents signed a petition complaining that commuters use their street as a thoroughfare during morning and evening rush hours. Residents want to prevent motorists from speeding through the neighborhood.

The council also approved a plan to add several left-turn lanes along Green Valley Circle, near the Fox Hills Mall. Condominium and apartment residents have had difficulty leaving and returning to their buildings because of traffic.
