Jim Rice had three doubles and two runs batted in Wednesday to pace a 15-hit attack and lead the Boston Red Sox to an 8-7 exhibition victory over the Chicago White Sox at Winter Haven, Fla.

Eric Show pitched six shutout innings and Mario Ramirez drove in three runs, leading the San Diego Padres to a 7-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners at Yuma, Ariz.

Jody Davis had two hits and three RBIs, Leon Durham had three hits and rookie Shawon Dunston drove in two runs as the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants, 10-2, at Mesa, Ariz.

Jim Gantner drove in his third run of the game with a 10th-inning single that lifted the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians at Sun City, Ariz.
