Morrison Says He's Staying at USC

March 28, 1985|MAL FLORENCE

USC basketball Coach Stan Morrison said Wednesday that he has no intention of leaving the school to take another coaching job. It has been rumored that he was a possible replacement for Dick Kuchen at California.

"I love USC," Morrison said. "I believe that the athletic administration, university administration and Stan Morrison have the same goals. I appreciate the university's earnest effort to assist me in reaching that goal, and I'm excited and pleased to be at USC. I never wanted to leave."

It is believed that Morrison's contract has been improved both in salary and tenure. Also, Morrison has been told by the administration that basketball now has a high priority at the school, with the possibility of an arena being built on campus if the Sports Arena becomes unsuitable.
