An investor group proposed a buy-out of Mohasco

March 30, 1985

Columbia Enterprises, a Miami investment firm, said it had offered a buy-out of Mohasco Corp. at $32 a share. Columbia currently controls 9.4% of the stock in Mohasco, an Amsterdam, N.Y.-based manufacturer of carpeting and furniture. The Miami firm said in a SEC filing that, if the Mohasco board does not accept the proposal, it would seek other takeover means.
