Right wing Jari Kurri, who leads the National Hockey League with 70 goals and ranks second in scoring behind Edmonton teammate Wayne Gretzky, will be sidelined for an estimated 10 days with a broken left hand.
Kurri, injured in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins, did not dress Friday night when the Oilers lost to the Harford Whalers, 8-7, at Hartford, Conn. He is expected to be back for the NHL playoffs.
Rookie center Ray Ferraro scored three goals and had two assists, and Ray Neufeld had two goals and two assists to lead the Whalers.
Ferraro scored his second hat trick in the last four games, getting all three goals in the second period. His five-point night tied a club record.
