The Region : Fullerton Officer Shot by Holdup Suspect

A Fullerton police officer sustained a superficial wound on the head after he was shot during an exchange of gunfire with a robbery suspect. Officer John King, 26, a five-year department veteran, was on routine patrol at a shopping center when witnesses pointed to a man running from a store. King was shot while pursuing the man, who had fled the Golden Comb hair styling shop in the 1600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue. The suspect was still at large late Monday, according to Fullerton police. King was treated at St. Jude Hospital and released.
