PRO-Peace announced its formation as a new anti-nuclear organization in Los Angeles by disclosing plans to stage a massive cross-country march in 1986 to help create a "moral force" to pressure American and Soviet leaders to dismantle nuclear weapons. David Mixner, a Los Angeles political fund-raiser and former anti-Vietnam War organizer who heads the group, said the group hopes to raise $25 million to finance the march and additional efforts that include attempts to arouse Soviet citizens to acts of disobedience.
