Carver Corp. filed with the SEC for an initial public offering of 700,000 common shares, of which 600,000 shares are being sold by the company and the balance by current shareholders. The underwriting group will be led by Piper, Jaffray & Hopwood Inc.

Cedar Income Fund 1 Ltd., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, filed for an initial public offering of 5 million common shares. The offering will be made by a selling group of broker-dealers headed by Life Investors Management Corp.

New York-based Manufacturers Hanover Corp. filed for a shelf offering of up to $1 billion in debt securities on terms to be determined at the time of sale. The filing includes $200 million of debt securities that were previously registered but not sold. Underwriters, if any, will be named later.

World Alternative Energy Corp. filed for an initial public offering of 937,500 units, each consisting of two shares of common stock and one Class A common stock purchase warrant. The offering will be underwritten through a group managed by Muller & Co.
