Rams Play Host to Raiders in Last Game of '85 Season

April 11, 1985

The Raiders will play the Rams at Anaheim Stadium Monday night, Dec. 23, in the final game of the 1985 National Football League season.

The Raiders will also play the San Francisco 49ers, in a battle of the last two Super Bowl winners, Sept. 22 at the Coliseum, according to schedules released Wednesday.

The Raiders will open against the New York Jets Sept. 8 at the Coliseum. It will be the Raiders' first home opener since 1977 and only their third since the 1970 merger of the NFL and American Football League.

The Rams will also open at home Sept. 8, against the Denver Broncos.

The Raiders and Rams will go head-to-head at home three other times--Oct. 6, when the Raiders play Kansas City and the Rams face Minnesota; Nov. 24, when Denver visits the Raiders and Green Bay is at Anaheim, and Dec. 15, when Seattle plays at the Coliseum and the Rams play host to St. Louis.

Other home games on the Raiders' schedule: Oct. 13, New Orleans; Monday night, Oct. 28, San Diego, and Nov. 17, Cincinnati.

The rest of the Rams' home schedule: Sept. 29, Atlanta; Oct. 27, San Francisco, and Nov. 3, New Orleans.

The Raiders have the NFL's third most-demanding schedule based on 1984 records. Their opponents were 145-111 last season. Ram opponents were 128-128.
