Paul Greenburg, executive producer of "The NBC Nightly News" since March, 1979, has been appointed to a newly created position as executive producer in charge of "major specific news division projects now in development" at NBC News, the network said Friday.
William O. Wheatly Jr., a senior producer at NBC's evening news program, will succeed Greenburg as the program's executive producer. Cheryl Gould, former senior producer of NBC's now-defunct "NBC News Overnight," succeeds Wheatly as senior producer on "Nightly News."
