FOLKESTONE, England — Fifteen-year-old Wang Xiao-Dong from China outshone 42 players from 16 countries to win the second international Yehudi Menuhin violin competition.

Wang took the first prize of $4,525 last week at the biennial event in this southern English town.

Another Chinese boy, 14-year-old Guo Chiang, won the junior category, which was won by Wang in the first year of the contest.

The competition is judged by an international panel of nine professional musicians chaired by Menuhin, one of the world's leading violinists.
