Heritage Christian Rallies to Top St. Michael's Prep, 14-7

April 27, 1985

Heritage Christian High School rallied from deficits of 4-0 and 7-4 Friday and went on to defeat St. Michael's Prep, 14-7, in an Academy League game in Bellis Park at Buena Park.

Heritage scored six runs in the third in to take the lead for good at 10-7. Bill Bozareth led the Patriot offense by going 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI and Terry Grabau was 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs. Deren Beck went five innings and earned the win.

In Olympic League action:

Capistrano Valley Christian 14, Ontario Christian 0--Host Capistrano Valley Christian had 18 hits, five by Greg Thomas, and routed Ontario Christian. James Padilla pitched a four-hit shutout and struck out eight to improve his record to 5-3. Thomas went 5 for 5 with five RBIs and four runs scored for the Eagles (4-6).

Orange Lutheran 4, Valley Christian 1--John Cummings pitched a complete game, striking out 10 as he led the Lancers to the win. The only Crusader run came on a third-inning home run by first baseman Tom Bousema. Mike Amling was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for the Lancers.
