A 53-year-old man surrendered to Anaheim police anti-sniper units after a three-hour standoff early today. Police were called to an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Wilshire Avenue in Anaheim after the man started firing. Eight shots were fired but no one was hit, Police Sgt. Thomas Lahmon said. Residents of 20 apartments in the complex next to the Santa Ana Freeway were evacuated. Lahmon identified the man as Ted Perry and said no booking charge had been determined. Officers were at a loss to explain why Perry allegedly fired his weapon.
