First Switch Pitcher

May 26, 1985

A mistake appears in Dick Roraback's review of "Nine Innings" (Book Review, May 12). Cal McLish would not even have become the first major league switch pitcher. Tony Mullane, from 1881 to 1894, threw with both hands: 285 wins and 215 loses, a better record than McLish.
