Volunteers are being sought by the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs. Those interested must be willing to work at least four hours a week for six months.
Accepted applicants will undergo 16 hours of training covering a variety of consumer subjects. Training will also include instruction on how to help consumers deal with problems in the marketplace.
Volunteer duties include assisting the department staff with telephone inquiries, interviewing consumers, researching documents, consumer counseling and screening of complaints.
