Indoor Soccer Stadium to Be Constructed

May 26, 1985

A $2.5-million, 64,000-square-foot indoor soccer facility, believed to be the first of its type in California, is being built in western Riverside County in the San Sevaine Industrial Park at the Pomona (60) Freeway and Van Buren Avenue.

The site was selected because there are 25,000 registered youth soccer players within a 20-mile radius. Huntley Properties Development of San Bernardino and Riverside is owner/builder of the facility, leased by a group of investors in the San Bernardino and Riverside areas.

Known as the California Soccer Academy, the project will contain two indoor soccer fields, two practice fields, restaurant, locker room, pro shop, meeting rooms, and video arcade.

The center is scheduled to be ready for play in August.
