Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer will receive the "People of the Book Human Rights Award," the highest award of the New Jewish Agenda, during a special ceremony and reception Sunday at 5539 W. Pico Blvd.

Meyer served for 25 years as a rabbi in Buenos Aires, where he became an outspoken opponent of the Argentine military dictatorship and the leading Jewish advocate on behalf of thousands of people who have disappeared. In August, 1984, Meyer led National Jewish Agenda's Human Rights Study Mission of national Jewish leaders to Nicaragua.
