Crocker dropped its computerized home banking.

May 31, 1985

After an 18-month test, the big San Francisco-based bank said it was leaving the Pronto home banking system developed by Chemical Bank in New York. "While we believe Pronto is the leading home banking system, our current financial and staff commitments precluded us from going ahead with it at this time," Crocker said. About 200 bank customers and employees participated in the program, which used personal computers and telephone lines for automated banking and bill paying.
