The San Diego architecture firm of Lorimer Case has won a People in Preservation Award from the Save Our Heritage Organization for the restoration of its historic headquarters building at Hancock and Washington streets, San Diego.
The 15,000-square-foot masonry building with steel and concrete floors and a wooden roof was built in 1911 as the bottling plant of Mission Brewery. Later it was put to a variety of uses by successive owners.
Lorimer Case handled both exterior and interior design while W. A. Davidson Co. performed the construction. The award is presented each year for restoration and renovation projects on structures that are at least 50 years old.
