BRIEFLY

Most airlines posted increased passenger traffic.

June 05, 1985

Airlines reporting gains in revenue passenger miles--one paying passenger flown one mile--in May over the year-ago month included TWA (up 19.4%), Delta (up 18.4%), Republic (up 30%), Continental (up 68%), People Express (up 76.6%), PSA (up 17.9%) and Muse (up 8.9%). However, United reported a 32.7% decline, due largely to its pilots strike, which began May 17.
