I felt disappointed that Roraback did not include any psychologists in the group of tarot readers. Increasingly, psychologist are using the tarot archetypes as a transformation tool.
Any good tarot reader always spends at least a few minutes relating the tarot to history, scholarship, science and the works of Jung.
And he or she does not predict the future--at least not in the Gypsy fortune-teller tradition. What the reader does do is allow a pattern to emerge from which one can derive clear and helpful answers to any of life's problems. These answers do not come from the sky or the cards or even the reader. These answers come from the depths of the clients themselves. They are merely facilitated by the cards and the reader. And these answers are very accurate.
