For Father's Day, barbecue a delicious combination of sausages on the grill. Dad will be delighted with bratwurst, brotwurst, knackwurst, kielbasa and frankfurters, all ideal grill mates using marinades or brushing on sauces during cooking.
For interesting smoked flavorings, whole sage leaves, mint or bay leaves may be laid on the sausages, on the grill or even skewered between chunks of sausage.
Here are two sauce recipes that will be delicious brushed on sausages during grilling. Herbs give sausages a unique flavor in Herb Marinade.
CELERY SEED-HONEY SAUCE
1/2 cup pineapple juice
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
Combine pineapple juice and cornstarch in saucepan and mix well. Stir in honey, celery seeds and paprika. Heat over low heat until thickened. Brush on sausages during grilling. Makes about 3/4 cup sauce.
