Venice High Given Conservation Funds

June 13, 1985

Venice High School has been awarded $9,000 by the state Environmental Energy Educational Grant Program to continue its energy conservation program and develop a model that could be used at other schools.

Venice gained recognition for its energy conservation efforts by designing a program that cut the school's energy expenses by 20% in the 1982-83 school year. That program was funded by the California Energy Extension Service and included a science and energy fair and student-designed conservation posters.
