It is most surprising that the City Council members voted for themselves a 10% salary increase.
These are the same people who under the leadership of Councilman Joel Wachs only a few weeks ago limited rent increases to 4% because "the cost of living increase is only 4%." This hurts only property owners and so they voted the money out of the property owners pockets, but they had no qualms to vote 10% into their own pockets.
