E.t. Doesn't Go Better With Coke

June 23, 1985

E.T. is for the enjoyment of children and that is what it represents, not to advertise drugs.

I'm not the only one who thinks that way. I'm a grandmother of two and I went to see "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" four times.

When the movie comes around again, I don't know whether I'll take my grandchildren or not. I didn't like your drawing, but the stories you printed inside were tear-jerkers about children who believe E.T. is kind, gentle, friendly and almost real--and not a drug user like the picture.
