The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reported that electric production for the week ended June 22 declined 3.2% from the previous week . . . Southern California Edison said electric production for the week ended June 15 rose 4.1% from the week before . . . Reynolds Metals said it will temporarily idle 49,000 tons of primary aluminum production capacity by shutting down a 25,000-ton-per-year potline at Troutdale, Ore., and a line at Longview, Wash., with an annual capacity of 24,000 tons . . . The American Iron and Steel Institute reported that steel production for the week ended June 24 totaled 1.671 million tons, a decrease of 7% from the previous week.
