John D. Lusk & Son, Irvine-based building firm, has expanded northward with the acquisition, for about $20 million, of the Northern California operations of Broadmoor Homes, a subsidiary of Canadian-based Genstar.
The new company nas been named Broadmoor/Lusk Homes and will continue the construction and marketing of Broadmoor's residential communities. Former Broadmoor employees have been absorbed into the Lusk organization.
Broadmoor new-home developments assumed by Lusk include Muirwood Meadows, Pleasanton; Park Pavilion, Concord, and the Villages, Cottages and Corners at 1600 Hamilton Place, San Jose.
Mike West, Lusk vice president and director of sales, said, "We plan to be a part of the Northern California market for a long time. The acquisition of Broadmoor Homes and its neighborhoods has helped us establish roots in the area, and we'll be actively seeking more land in prime locations to introduce new home communities."
