WASHINGTON — The American Bar Assn. on Friday presented its ABA Silver Gavel award to the Los Angeles Times for "outstanding public service in increasing public understanding of the American legal system."
The Times, one of 17 recipients of the award, was cited for its eight-part series, "The Litigation Explosion," which documented inefficiency and abuse in the U.S. legal system.
