'Too Many Contras'

July 14, 1985

Your editorial was typical of your left-wing, apologistic views.

Why, I ask, is it wrong to rebel against Communist regimes? The rebels in Nicaragua, Angola, Laos and elsewhere are brave patriots trying to overthrow Moscow-front puppet regimes. They need our help in order to counter the Soviet Union's brutal and relentless quest for world domination.

The Soviets want the entire world under their thumb and you are, inadvertently or not, helping them in their sordid campaign of imperialism. As those who derive their living from the existence of freedom, you should be supportive of all measures designed to bring down communism and thwart the Kremlin's desire for a Red world.
