Not all of the office building activity in Burbank is in the so-called "Media District" near the film studios; construction activity is also visible in the city's famous "beautiful" downtown area.
A case in point is the $5.5-million, 32,000-square-foot headquarters of Thomas Realty Co. Inc., to be built on the site of the present Thomas Realty building now being demolished at Olive Avenue and Golden Mall.
Scheduled for completion next spring, the three-story brick-faced atrium structure will cover half the block between Olive and Angeleno avenues on the west side of the Golden Mall. The architect is J. A. Rinaldi Associates AIA, Westlake Village.
"We are aiming for a comfortable, homelike atmosphere contained in the most modern, deluxe offices," according to Thomas M. Tunnicliffe, president of the firm. He added that Thomas Realty will occupy 8,000 square feet of space in the building, with the rest available for lease.
