3 Additional Facilities Completed in Cypress

Construction of three additional research-and-development facilities at the Warland-Cypress Business Center in Cypress has been completed.

Designed by Howard F. Thompson & Associates of Irvine, the $5-million project adds 160,231 square feet to the center.

Tustin Center Lease

Scan-Tron Corp. has signed a 10-year, $6-million lease on a 75,000-square-foot building in the Tustin Research Center and will move its operations to Tustin later this year.

Scan-Tron was represented in the negotiations by Business Properties Brokerage, and Matlow-Kennedy handled lease arrangements for Santa Fe Pacific Realty Corp., the center's developer.

$4.6 Million Purchase

Graham International Inc. has sold a 53,258-square-foot research-and-development building in Rancho Bernardo to Storey Ltd. for $4.6 million.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services, Rancho Bernardo, handled the sale.

Sycamore Building Sold

The Sycamore Building, a San Diego research-and-development center valued at $1.8 million, was traded for 49 acres of vacant land in Billings, Mont.

The land, valued at $1.3 million, was subsequently sold to Billings Land Venture to complete the three-way exchange.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services, San Diego, handled the sale.

Two Carlsbad Additions

Koll Construction Co. of San Diego has begun work on two additional buildings at the 560-acre, $500 million Carlsbad Research Center.

The 40,000- and 60,000-square-foot buildings, designed by Deems/Lewis & Partners of San Diego, are intended for secretarial, legal and other non-technical services.

First Phase Completed

First-phase construction on the Westlake Corporate Center, a $6-million, 93,400-square-foot research-and-development facility at Westlake Village, has been completed.

Developed by Ronald Binder and designed by Frank O. Gehry & Associates of Santa Monica, the complex will be leased through Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate.

Simi Construction

The Simi Investment Group has completed construction of two research-and-development buildings in the $10-million, 7.44-acre Peppertree Business Park at Simi Valley.

The 70,000- and 50,000-square-foot buildings were designed by Carli Architecture.

Transpark Loan OK'D

The Abacus Group's Los Angeles office has negotiated $12.5 million in financing for continued construction in the Transpark Research Center at Ontario.

Construction, which began in January, is scheduled for completion in September, with more than 93,470 square feet to be added.

North County Phase 1

Initial construction on the North County Tech Center at Yorba Linda has been completed at a cost of $9 million.

The two structures in Phase 1 include 38,000- and 82,000-square-foot facilities designed by Howard F. Thompson & Associates.

Computer Center

Dunphy Construction Co. has started work on a $15-million, 160,000-square-foot computer center for General Dynamic's Kearney Mesa plant. Architects for the center are Deems/Lewis & Partners of San Diego.

The center is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Koll Sorrento Completed

Koll Sorrento, a four-building, $11-million research complex in the Lusk Mira Mesa Business Park at San Diego, has been completed.

The 137,000-square-foot facility was designed by Conwell-Marshall & Associates and will be leased by Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services.

San Diego Project

Sierra Pacific Development Funds, a commercial real estate development and syndication firm based in Newport Beach, has acquired a 40,600-square-foot research-and-development project to be built in San Diego's Lusk Park East.

Ground breaking for the single-story Sierra Sorrento complex is scheduled this month.

Completes Construction

The Douglas Allred Co. has completed construction of a 114,000-square-foot, $9-million research and-development building in the Rancho Bernardo Corporate Center at San Diego.

Financing Arranged

Take-out financing of $3.3 million has been arranged for the Montgomery Tech Center by the San Diego office of the George Elkin Co.'s Mortgage Banking Division.

The 45,576-square-foot center is located in the Kearney Mesa area of San Diego.

Sky Park Center Leasing

Work on the $5.3-million R&D Sky Park Corporate Center at Kearney Mesa hasbeen completed by Collins Construction Co.

The 44,000-square-foot building was designed by Artechtronics of San Diego and is being leased by the commercial brokerage division of John Burnham & Co.

Leasing Agent Named

TOLD Real Estate Corp. has been named agent for a new $8.5-million research and development facility located in the Moorpark Business Center.

The 86,412-square-foot building was developed by the Terra Development Corp. of Santa Monica.

First-Phase Financing

The Newport Beach office of John Burnham & Co. has arranged take-out financing for the 120,000-square-foot first-phase of the Tri-County Tech Center, now under construction in the Savi Ranch Business Park at Yorba Linda.

The buildings are part of a $10.2-million, 243,500-square-foot research and development complex planned by Pacesetter Homes Inc.
