Campaign on Teen Pregnancies

August 16, 1985

Could it be that NBC, ABC and CBS, in their decision to deny the ad campaign addressing teen pregnancy, are more in need of education than the general public?

For starters, what is cute about a pregnant 12-year-old? What is wonderful about a 3-year-old with allergies, nutritional deficiencies, and no immunization?

What's great about a poverty-ridden future? What is adorable about a battered baby?

How much potential for human growth must be irretrievably lost before we recognize the right of teen-agers to become adults before they become parents, and the right of every child to good health and loving security?
