Developers of a proposed beachfront hotel will have to wait until Sept. 4 to find out if the project is still alive.
Attorneys for developers Greenwood & Langlois, who have challenged the results of a special election on the project, began arguing their case last week in Los Angeles Superior Court. After about 90 minutes of testimony, the hearing was adjourned until after the Labor Day holiday.
Voters in June rejected the bitterly contested project by two votes, 2,400 to 2,398. The developers claim that City Clerk Kathleen Reviczky improperly handled several ballots.
