NEW ORLEANS — Chris Evert Lloyd, Zina Garrison, Kathy Rinaldi and nearly half of the World Tennis Assn.'s top 25 players are in the final field announced for the $150,000 Virginia Slims of New Orleans tournament.
The second annual tournament here will be played Sept. 23-29 at the University of New Orleans' Lakefront Arena.
It was previously announced that Lloyd, Garrison and Rinaldi would play here, along with Wendy Turnbull and Canadian Carling Bassett.
The field also will include such highly ranked players as Barbara Potter, Bettina Bunge of Germany, Alycia Moulton, Peanut Louie, Kathleen Horvath and Elise Burgin.
