September 06, 1985

Abill extending the life of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy until July, 1990, was sent to the governor's desk on Thursday.

On a 57-14 vote, the state Assembly passed the measure, which was sponsored by Assemblyman Gray Davis (D-Los Angeles). The 973-acre canyon is north of Point Dume in Malibu and about two miles inland.
